Background:

The Transforming Care Programme is designed to improve services for people with a learning disability and/or autistic people, who display or are at risk of displaying behaviours which challenge, including those with a mental health condition. It's all about driving system-wide change so that more people can live in the community, with the right support, and close to home. The aims of the programme are outlined in the national plan, Building the Right Support.

TQUK Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Difficulties course

Learners will explore a wide range of skills required when working with people that are affected by learning disabilities.

The course is designed to give learners a strong understanding of how to support individuals with learning difficulties to make their own decisions and make the most of their life.

Developing essential knowledge and skills around actively supporting individuals with learning difficulties, this qualification is taught through personal development opportunities that help understand and demonstrate a high quality person centred approach to support.

How is it taught?

Via classroom activities, virtual, reflective logs and assessment in the workplace.

For those working with Individual’s with Learning Disabilities.

How is the course assessed?

The course is unit based and assessed using a variety of methods, including written assignments, as well as assessments in the workplace.

TQUK Level 3 Certificate – Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities (RQF)

The TQUK Level 3 Certificate – Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities (RQF) develops learners’ knowledge and understanding in supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities exploring the concepts of Best Days, Person Centred thinking and Positive Risk taking.

Learners must achieve a minimum of 23 credits: 12 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 11 credits from the optional units. At least 17 credits must be achieved at level 3.

Mandatory Units:

  • Understand the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities

  • Promote communication in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
