Overview

This training is aimed at those staff that may be required to move and handle inanimate objects and loads. The course will equip candidates with an awareness of manual handling hazards and injuries, and practical skills in measures to prevent injury and work safety.

Course Contents

• Be aware of current legislation relating to manual handling and lifting equipment
• Understand the nature and causes of manual handling related injuries
• Appreciate the measures which can help prevent injury
• Understand the process of risk assessment and principles of safe manual handling
• Be aware of mechanical assistance equipment, team lifting and kinetic lifting techniques
