The Founding

Jul 2005

On this date, JD Training Solutions Ltd. was founded. It's hard to believe such an accomplished company started off in a small room the size of a cupboard, with two members of a staff doing the jobs our 18 staff members have today. This date also provided a new chapter in our Managing Director Annette's life, and only grew from there.

A Growing Business: Moving to Mill Cottage

Jan 2006

From a small cupboard room to a picturesque cottage right by the River Tees - with a separate room for the office and the training room to boot! - Mill Cottage may have been the official second location of JD Training Solutions, but it was the company's first home. As the business grew, so did the humble office. With extensions to add more training rooms, bathrooms and an even bigger office space for our growing staff , it was a visual representation of how JD Training itself kept expanding. Although it is now the booking office for the Teesside Princess, we will always still hold Mill Cottage in a special place in our hearts.

More Training Needed, More Rooms to Spare: Moving into Apex House

Jul 2017

Not long after our 12th birthday, we made the decision to go even bigger, moving ourselves into the entire second floor of Apex House, located up the road from Mill Cottage on Silver Street. The office space was everything we needed, and it really showed our growth and success as a business.

A Mayoral Visit

Oct 2017

To celebrate the move to Apex House, JD Training Solutions was officially opened by Councillor Maurice Perry, on the 24th October 2017. This day marked a new chapter in JD Training history, and was a sign that things would only go up from here.

JD Training Solutions provides training in First Aid, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Health and Social Care, Clinical Skills and QCF Diplomas in Health and Social Care.

Our Story

JD Training has emerged from the understanding of coping with circumstances and difficulties. It is our aim and focus to equip our learners with not only the practical skills but also the core values of initiative and insight in helping those in need and enabling them to carry out their roles with care and competence. We strive to give the best possible training to our customers at extremely competitive rates. Our trainers are highly trained professionals with excellent training qualifications and years of hands on experience within health care and the public sector. Our customers tell us our training is excellent and we believe we are unique in the fact we are always available for post course advice and guidance.

What's in the Name?

JD Training was established in July 2005 by our Managing Director, Annette Heath (RGN). Sadly at that time we lost a much-loved member of our family Joan Doris Burnett. The company is named after Joan, who was a very special person who always had time for everyone. After suffering a stroke Joan showed strength of character, great courage and determination despite her disabilities. So it is to Joan Doris that we have dedicated the name of our company to, in the hope that we can carry forth her kindness, courage and determination and make JD Training into a business that is always willing to help and go the extra mile for our customers.

Our Team

Over the past fifteen years, not only has our office and quality of training grew, but so has our team. From our wonderful office staff who are our brains behind the operation - planning courses, venues, and going the extra mile to satisfy our customers - to our amazing trainers, who are consistent in delivering excellent training to our clients. Without our amazing team, JD Training wouldn't be where we are today.
